Marble Vessel Sinks

A vessel sink sits on top of the counter rather than dropping into it, so the basin itself is the fixture you see. That makes the material decision the whole design decision — and it is why almost everything we carve is built as a vessel.

This collection gathers every above-counter basin in the catalogue: marble, travertine, onyx, limestone and fossil stone, in round, oval, square and rectangular forms. Each one is carved from a single solid block. There is no seam, no bonded base and no stone veneer over a composite core.

Getting the heights right

This is where vessel installations usually go wrong. A standard vanity is 32 to 34 inches high; add a basin with a 5 to 8 inch exterior wall and the rim lands between 37 and 42 inches, which is too high to use comfortably. Most of our customers drop the cabinet to 29 or 30 inches so the finished rim sits near 36 inches. Every product page lists the exterior height, so you can work backwards from the rim height you want before the joinery is built.

Taps and drains

A vessel basin needs a tall vessel-style tap or a wall-mounted spout — a standard basin mixer will not clear the rim. Our sinks are supplied with a standard drain hole and take an unslotted pop-up or grid waste; because stone basins have no overflow, do not fit an overflow-slotted waste.

Weight

Stone is heavy. A 16-inch basin runs around 25 to 30 kg and the larger rectangular pieces are considerably more. Exact weights are on every listing. Check that the countertop and cabinet can carry the load before ordering, particularly on floating vanities.

Shipping within the United States is free and every basin is crated. Natural variation in tone and veining is expected.
