Installation Tips for Marble Sinks
Installing a handcrafted marble sink requires care, precision, and the right preparation to protect both the product and your space. Here are our expert tips to ensure a smooth installation:
1. Hire a Professional Installer
Natural marble sinks are heavier and more delicate than standard sinks. We highly recommend hiring an experienced professional familiar with stone installations to avoid cracks, stress points, or incorrect leveling.
2. Measure Accurately Before Installation
Double-check sink dimensions, countertop cutouts, and faucet height before beginning. For vessel sinks, ensure that the vanity height accommodates the added height of the sink.
3. Ensure Countertop Support
Marble is heavy. Make sure your countertop is strong enough to support the weight—especially for vessel or freestanding sinks. Reinforce the base if needed.
4. Use the Right Sealants & Adhesives
Always use stone-safe, non-acidic adhesives and high-quality sealants. Avoid silicone products that contain vinegar or chemicals that may etch or discolor the marble.
5. Allow Proper Drain Clearance
Ensure the drain hole is aligned and properly sealed to avoid future leaks. Use compatible drain hardware made specifically for stone sinks to prevent cracks during tightening.
6. Seal the Marble (If Not Pre-Sealed)
If your sink isn’t factory-sealed, apply a natural stone sealant before use to protect it from stains and water damage. Reseal annually for best results.
7. Avoid Harsh Cleaners Post-Installation
After installation, clean the sink only with pH-neutral stone cleaners. Never use bleach, vinegar, or abrasive sponges.
