Round Marble Sinks
A round basin is turned, not cut. The block is mounted and worked concentrically, which means the finished piece has no joints and no facets ā and it means the veining wraps continuously around the bowl instead of stopping at an edge. On a stone with strong movement that is the whole reason to choose the shape.
This collection covers every circular form we make: shallow bowls, deep cylinders and conical profiles, across marble, travertine and onyx.
The three profiles
A shallow round basin has a low exterior wall and a wide mouth ā visually light, easy to clean around, and best paired with a wall spout so water does not carry over the rim. A cylinder, like the Gray Marmara pieces at 15.9 and 16.5 inches, holds a constant diameter top to bottom and reads as a solid column of stone. A conical profile tapers towards the base and takes up less counter than its rim diameter suggests, which is useful on a narrow vanity.
Setting one out
Centre the basin on the vanity and allow at least three inches of clear counter behind the rim for the tap plate. Round basins are unforgiving of an off-centre drain, so mark the waste position from the finished basin rather than from the drawing. Because these are turned from solid stone, wall thickness is consistent all the way round and the pieces are heavy for their size ā 25 to 35 kg is typical at 16 inches. Seal on installation, reseal annually and keep acidic cleaners away from the surface. US shipping is free and every basin is crated for freight.
