Every piece is cut from natural stone. Colour, veining and pattern vary from block to block, so the piece you receive will not match the photographs exactly — that variation is the material, not a defect. Small filled pits and tonal shifts are normal in marble and travertine. If an exact tone matters to you, email info@brosmarble.com before ordering and we will photograph the actual piece we would ship.

This basin hangs on the wall. The wall has to carry its full weight, so plan the support before delivery. We make a matching heavy-duty bracket in sizes from 8 to 32 inches — see the bracket. Match the size to the basin width.

This piece is heavy. Check that your vanity, counter or floor can carry the weight above before you order, and plan for two people at delivery. Full guidance is in the measurement & installation guide.

Where this piece comes from

  • Our own quarry. The block is selected in quarries we operate in Turkey and Italy, not bought finished from an importer. See the quarries.
  • Our own workshop. Cutting, carving and finishing all happen in Denizli. Nothing is subcontracted. How we make it.
  • Fifteen years of it. BROSMARBLE started as a mining business and still runs on that side of the trade. About us.

Custom Travertine Sink

Travertine behaves nothing like marble. It is a sedimentary stone laid down by mineral springs, and the small voids running through it are the record of the gas that escaped while it formed. Those voids are what give travertine its warmth and its matte, tactile surface. We fill and polish them so the basin is watertight and easy to wipe down, but the texture stays visible where it should.

The color sits in the beige and light walnut range, warmer and much quieter than white marble. In a bathroom with timber, lime plaster or unlacquered brass, travertine tends to disappear into the room in a way Calacatta never does. That is usually the reason people choose it.

Sizes and options

  • 46 size combinations, from 16" wide up to 40" wide
  • Depths of 14", 16" and 18"; heights of 6" and 8"
  • Rectangular vessel profile, carved from a single block
  • Drain opening 1.75" (4.5 cm), sized for standard US fittings
  • Filled and polished finish
  • Made to order, production time 1 to 4 weeks

Where the stone comes from

Turkey supplies most of the world's travertine, and Denizli, where our workshop is, sits in the middle of that region. We select blocks at the quarry rather than buying finished slabs, which lets us choose the bedding direction before anything is cut. That decision is what determines whether the finished basin shows long linear banding or a cloudier cross-cut pattern. Rough cutting is done on diamond wire and waterjet equipment; hollowing, edging and polishing are done by hand.

Before you order

A vessel basin adds its full height above the counter, so measure the vanity height and the tap reach before choosing a size. Confirm the counter can take the load. We recommend a professional installer for any solid stone basin. Custom dimensions are available; email us before ordering.

Living with it

Travertine is more porous than marble and benefits from being resealed once a year, or sooner in a heavily used bathroom. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid vinegar, bleach, citrus cleaners and abrasive pads. Wipe standing water rather than leaving it to dry in place. Color, banding and the pattern of filled voids vary from block to block; this is a property of natural travertine and is not a defect.

Ordering and delivery

Free shipping within the United States, 3 to 4 business days in transit once the piece leaves our warehouse. Full coverage marble and freight insurance is available at checkout. Returns within 30 days under our refund policy; return shipping is the customer's responsibility and a 25% restocking fee applies. Transit damage must be reported within 14 days of delivery.

The stone. Tones run beige and brown. Because this is quarried stone rather than a manufactured surface, no two basins are identical — the photographs show a representative piece, not the exact one you will get. Carved from a single block of travertine in our Denizli workshop — no casting, no veneer, no resin filler.

Sizes. 46 sizes are made to order, from 16" to 40" wide, in 14" and 16" and 18" depths and 6" and 8" heights. Pick the width against your vanity, not against the room — a basin that overhangs its counter looks wrong from every angle.

Fitting it. It sits on top of the counter, so you need a countertop with a drain cut-out and a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mounted spout. Measure the finished basin height against your vanity — a vessel adds its full height above the counter.

What the photographs show. Look at the studio shots for shape and surface, the room shots for scale, and the dimension drawing for the numbers — length, width, height, drain hole and weight are all on that one frame.

Looking after it. Blot spills rather than leaving them, use a stone-safe cleaner, and reseal periodically. Treated this way the basin outlasts the bathroom around it.

Ordering. Priced $900 to $4,250 depending on size. Production time is 1–4 weeks. Shipping weight is roughly 276 lb, so it travels freight rather than parcel. Shipping is free within the United States from our Connecticut warehouse. Returns are accepted within 30 days under our Refund Policy.

Production time. Almost every piece is natural stone cut and finished to order, so production is the largest part of the total. If a Delivery Time is shown above, that is the production time for this item; if none is shown, it ships from stock.

Total delivery time = production time + transit. We confirm the exact dispatch date by email after your order is placed.

We do not offer an expedited service — paying more does not shorten production. Fixed installation date? Email info@brosmarble.com before ordering. Full details: Shipping policy.

Measurement & installation guide

Marble is heavy and unforgiving of a bad cutout, so measure before you order.

Measure: check the sink dimensions against your countertop cutout and faucet height. For vessel sinks, add the sink height to the vanity height before you decide.

Install: use an installer experienced with natural stone, confirm the countertop or base can carry the weight, and seal the marble before first use.
