Calacatta Viola marble sinks
The statement end of the catalogue: deep violet and gold veining on a white ground, in wall-mount, vessel and oval forms.
No two pieces are the same, and that is contractual
Every basin in this range is unique. The photographs show a piece of the same stone, not the piece you will receive, and the difference between two Calacatta Viola basins can be considerable. If a project depends on a specific pattern, ask for slab photographs before production starts and approve them in writing; we hold the block for you once approved. Where a matched pair is required, both pieces must be ordered together, because a second basin cut months later will come from a different block and will not mirror the first.
How a statement piece is handled
Three things to check before you order
-
One block, one piece
A single-block basin has no seam to fail and no substrate to delaminate, but it also cannot be repaired invisibly if it is chipped. Handle it as stone, not as ceramic: no impact tools near the rim, and no standing on the bowl during installation.
-
Insurance in transit
Stone travels badly if it is handled badly. Full Coverage Marble and Freight Insurance is offered at checkout and covers damage in transit. Whether or not you take it, inspect the crate on arrival and report damage within 14 days with photographs.
-
Matched pairs
Order both halves of a pair on the same order and say so in the order notes. We then cut them from one block. Ordering the second piece later almost guarantees a visible difference, because the first block will have been used.

Frequently asked questions
Is Calacatta Viola dyed or enhanced?
No. The violet and gold are natural mineral inclusions in the stone. What varies is how much of it a given block carries, which is why selection matters more than finishing at this price level.
Can you match a slab I have already bought?
Sometimes, but only honestly. Send photographs and the supplier name and we will tell you whether we can get close from current stock. We will not claim a match we cannot make; a near miss on a statement stone is worse than a deliberate contrast.
How do I stop it staining?
Seal it and dry it. The range ships sealed, and it wants re-sealing every 6 to 12 months. Wipe the bowl dry after use, and keep perfume, toothpaste with whitening agents and anything acidic off the stone. Etching from acid is physical damage, not a stain, and cannot be cleaned off.
Do you ship a piece this valuable outside the US?
We currently deliver to the United States, Canada and Mexico. Canada and Mexico are charged as flat freight from $145 and $225 by order value, with import duties calculated and collected at checkout so nothing is due on delivery.
What is the return position on a piece like this?
Standard catalogue pieces can be returned within 30 days; return shipping is the customer’s responsibility and a 25% restocking fee applies. A basin cut to a bespoke specification through Custom Orders is not returnable, which is why we send slab photographs before production on request.
