Travertine Sinks

Travertine is the stone our workshop knows best. The beds around Denizli have supplied Turkish stonemasons for centuries, and every basin in this collection is cut from a solid block quarried and carved by our own team — nothing is outsourced, and nothing is cast or reconstituted.

What separates travertine from marble is the pore structure. The stone forms in mineral springs, which leaves fine natural cavities running through it. We fill and hone those cavities on pieces like the Beige Travertine Honed Sink and the Troia Light Travertine Sink for a smooth, uniform surface, and leave them open on the blasted and distressed pieces where the texture is the point. Colour runs from the pale cream of Troia through the warm amber of Mocha to the deep chocolate of Noce, with Red Travertine at the far end of the range.

Choosing a size

The round vessel basins in this collection sit between 14 and 17 inches across and suit a standard 22-inch vanity top with room either side for a tap plate. The rectangular and trough pieces — the Troia Travertine Trough Sink and the 27.5-inch Troia — are built for double-width vanities and wet rooms. Every listing carries its exact dimensions in both inches and centimetres, together with the finished weight, because travertine at this size needs a cabinet that can carry it.

Living with travertine

Travertine is a calcium carbonate stone, so it reacts to acid. Seal it on installation, reseal annually, and keep citrus, wine and descaling products off the surface. Wipe spills rather than letting them stand. Handled that way, a travertine basin outlasts the bathroom around it.
